Weird Life: Restaurant Serving Frog Pizza

A restaurant chain has sparked fury by serving up pizzas with a topping of FROGS’ LEGS.

The “Hopper” contains eight limbs on a traditional base with capers and an anchovy sorbet.

The £17.95 dish has angered campaigners who slammed it as “barbaric” - because frogs’ legs are amputated while they are still alive.

Chef Sami Wasif came up with the idea on a trip to Paris - and called it “refined”.

He said: “I’ve been making pizza for more than 20 years and know that London is a city always looking for something new.”

He added: “Pizza is something you can experiment with. I might try one with snails on it next.”

Weird Life: Man Dies Watching Porn

watchingPorn.jpgA young man born with a heart problem died while watching a porn film.

Chris Nicholls, 23, collapsed after getting over-excited as he viewed the blue movie in his bedroom, an inquest heard.

He died of a cardiac arrest weeks after having open-heart surgery.

His body was found by his mum Clare at the family home in Redhill, Surrey. At the inquest she asked pathologist Dr Mary Sheppard, who examined Chris after his death, whether the heart attack was brought on by the film.

Chris was born with a congenital heart defect which could never be completely cured.

He had open-heart surgery when he was 15 months old and again following a heart attack in April.

He also suffered from a form of autism. Clare hit out at London’s Royal Brompton Hospital, where Chris had his latest operation.

Funny Weird Life: German police seek speeding British Muppet

GERMAN traffic police have been left looking like proper muppets by a British prankster.

muppetDriver.jpg

An Audi TT with British registration plates has been repeatedly caught speeding on roads in the Bavarian city of Bayreuth.

But because continental speed cameras are set up for left-hand drive vehicles, the cameras keep missing the driver’s face.

Instead, they keep capturing clear views of a manic Muppet-like toy which the cheeky Brit has propped up on his passenger seat.

But police admit they are even baffled about the identity of the muppet.

The No.1 suspect is Animal - the manic drummer from The Muppet Show’s house band The Electric Mayhem.

But several residents of Sesame Street are also in the frame, including the lovable monster Grover and Bert’s rubber-ducky-loving sidekick Ernie.

Now police have released one of the photographs in the hope someone will recognise the furry speed demon.

A German police source said: “The number plate is not enough. We need clear evidence of who is driving the vehicle too.

“But because this is a British vehicle we can never get a decent picture. The driver has obviously worked this out because he has placed a large puppet in the passenger seat.

The Hereford and Normandy breed cows were discovered by the ranch manager in the field.

A veterinary expert who examined the carcases said they had been killed by lightning hitting the wire fence bordering the field where the animals were stood. The incident occurred in Valdez Chico, near Montevideo, Uruguay.

In September, 53 cattle were killed by lightning in Katosi, Uganda. They had been seeking shelter underneath trees, according to local reports.

Lightning hits the earth an average 100 times per second, or 8.6 million times a day.

Each spark of lightning can reach over five miles in length, soar to temperatures of approximately 50,000 degrees Fahrenheit, and contain 100 million electrical volts.

Weird Animals: Giant spider eating a bird caught on camera

Photographs of a giant spider eating a bird in an Australian garden have stunned wildlife experts.

easpider122.jpg

The pictures show the spider with its long black legs wrapped around the body of a dead bird suspended in its web.

The startling images were reportedly taken in Atheron, close to Queensland’s tropical north.

Despite their unlikely subject matter, the pictures appear to be real.

Joel Shakespeare, head spider keeper at the Australian Reptile Park, said the spider was a Golden Orb Weaver.

“Normally they prey on large insects… it’s unusual to see one eating a bird,” he told ninemsn.com.

Mr Shakepeare said he had seen Golden Orb Weaver spiders as big as a human hand but the northern species in tropical areas were known to grow larger.

Queensland Museum identified the bird as a native finch called the Chestnut-breasted Mannikin.
