Sports Video: Female Hurdler Faceplants and Fights Back to Finish First!

According Saraina Hedgepeth, High School Coach’s testimonial:
“I must say, however, that her performance in the Camarillo meet was one of the most inspiring things I’ve seen in my entire coaching career. She cruised a 59 in the 400, then came back 10 minutes later and ran mid 12’s in the 100. Then, in the 300 hurdles, she took one of the hardest falls I’ve ever seen on the 2nd hurdle, got up, and won the race.”

Science & Arts Video: Emergy – Rowboat powered sculpture

Emergy is an interactive installation art project bridging sculpture, performance, media arts, architecture, mechanical and electrical engineering. At the nucleus of the installation is a 9ft mechanized rowboat that will generate electricity to power lights in the gallery. The project investigates romantic attachments to traditional concepts of technology, production and land use by using specific motifs. The created environment examines energy and water consumption in an urban desert environment by contrasting human consumption with human expenditure. Raising awareness through embodied experience, the visitor will come to know what it takes to create energy that powers our world.
