Computing Gadget: EzKEY Combines Mouse & Number Pad

Road Warriors that do lots of number crunching know that entering numbers on a laptop is not conductive for productivity. You can take an external keyboard with you, but if it is big enough to have a number pad, it’s probably not that portable. A new mouse called the EzKey aims to make number crunching much easier and more portable.

The device is a combo of a normal mouse and a keypad, flip up the clear plastic cover and you have a number pad to use when entering numerical data flip it down and you have your mouse again. It doesn’t look like the most ergonomic mouse in the world and there is no word on the sensitivity of the mouse or what type of sensor it uses. Pricing and availability information are unknown at this time.

Gadget: Wrist Watch Cell Phone Has a Dedicated Keypad on its Strap

While there haven’t been that many of them all together, cell phone wrist watches have never really taken off. Is it because their too geeky? Nah. We think it’s because most of them lack a dedicated keypad. The CECT WRIST is a wrist watch mobile phone with a dedicated keypad built on to its strap. The GSM phone also features a small 1.3″ TFT Touch screen, bluetooth, an FM radio, MP4 and 3GP video support, a WAP browser, an equalizer for playing MP3 files, a Voice recorder, calculator, and its memory can be expanded via Transflash cards. Granted the “Cect Wrist” phone is not a brand name, but with its wrist strap keypad, it does make those Dick Tracy fantasies a little bit more feasible. The phone retails for ₤151.57.
