Reckless Driving Kills

Here is a clip that should be compulsory for all drivers to watch once they have passed a driving test. I’m not going to preach to anyone that ‘Speed Kills’ when it has been proven that speed on it’s own is not the killer.

Speed combined with any of the following:

  1. Drink or Drugs
  2. Dangerous Driving
  3. Reckless Driving

…. this is what causes the accidents and kills.

Please, always remember. Be safe, be alive. Hope this video puts some people back in touch with reality when they get behind the wheel / bike again.

Please drive carefully.

Life: Man Followed His Sat-Nav Ended Up In A Lake

A Polish white van man who was too sure of his sat-nav ended up neck-deep in a lake after ignoring road signs warning of a dead-end ahead, Polish police said today.

The road hasn’t been used for a year after it was flooded out when an artificial lake was created.

It was dark and the un-named driver had been drinking, but he still managed to miss three signs warning him there was a lake ahead.

Police said the driver had ‘The man took a road that was closed a year ago when the area was flooded to make an artificial lake serving as a water reservoir — he ignored three road signs warning of a dead-end,’ said Piotr Smolen, police spokesman in Glubczyce, southern Poland.

‘It was still night time and he didn’t notice the road led into the lake. His GPS told him to drive straight ahead and he did.’

Mr Smolen added that the driver had been under the influence of alcohol.

Funny Weird Life: German police seek speeding British Muppet

GERMAN traffic police have been left looking like proper muppets by a British prankster.

An Audi TT with British registration plates has been repeatedly caught speeding on roads in the Bavarian city of Bayreuth.

But because continental speed cameras are set up for left-hand drive vehicles, the cameras keep missing the driver’s face.

Instead, they keep capturing clear views of a manic Muppet-like toy which the cheeky Brit has propped up on his passenger seat.

But police admit they are even baffled about the identity of the muppet.

The No.1 suspect is Animal – the manic drummer from The Muppet Show’s house band The Electric Mayhem.

But several residents of Sesame Street are also in the frame, including the lovable monster Grover and Bert’s rubber-ducky-loving sidekick Ernie.

Now police have released one of the photographs in the hope someone will recognise the furry speed demon.

A German police source said: “The number plate is not enough. We need clear evidence of who is driving the vehicle too.

“But because this is a British vehicle we can never get a decent picture. The driver has obviously worked this out because he has placed a large puppet in the passenger seat.

Freeware Computing: USB Drive Letter Manager

When you mount a USB drive on a Windows system, it wants to assign it a drive letter. That seems entirely reasonable. Unfortunately, sometimes Windows isn’t very smart about the letter it assigns, meaning that if the letter it wants to assign to your removable drive is already in use, perhaps for a network volume, you may never see your USB device in Windows Explorer. It doesn’t matter how cool a flash drive like this is if you can’t use it.

USB Drive Letter Manager is a tool that helps deal with this problem. Rather than relying on the good graces of the operating system from Redmond, it uses its own logic to supply a useful drive letter to your device, making sure that you can actually use it.

USB Drive Letter Manager runs as a service on Windows versions from Win2k up through Vista. It is provided as freeware for private and educational use.
