Yeti experts are heading to Poland after a local man filmed a “monstrous, hairy creature” while on holiday in the Tatra mountains. There have been rumours of a Polish Yeti in the area for centuries but this is the first time one of the strange creatures has been captured on film.

Piotr Kowalski, 27, from Warsaw was on a walking holiday in the Tatra mountains in Poland when he saw a mountain goat on one of the slopes. As he started filming, his attention was suddenly grabbed by the Yeti creature emerging from behind some rocks.

“I saw this huge ape-like form hiding behind the rocks. When I saw it it was like being struck by a thunderbolt,” he said.

“Coming from Warsaw, I never really believed the local stories of a wild mountain ape-man roaming the slopes. But, now I do.”

The film has been handed over for examination to the Nautilus Foundation, which deals with unexplained phenomena. “The film clearly shows ’something’ that moves on two legs and is bigger than a normal man,” says Foundation President Robert Bernatowicz.

“But because the camera shakes so much it is difficult to say what it is exactly. We need to go to the site and see what traces, if any, were left.”

Experts are puzzled by reports of a bizarre creature born in a small village in Zimbabwe in Africa which appears to be a half-goat, half-human hybrid.

The creature, which died just a few hours after birth, had a huge head and a face that resembled a severely disfigured baby. The neck and shoulders were much like a a small human, but it had goat legs and a tail.

Residents of the village of Maboleni, where a goat gave birth to the creature, burnt the corpse in an attempt to rid the town of a curse. A belief in ghosts is still alive and well in the region and the creature was taken as a sign of evil – perhaps even witchcraft.

But local Governor Jason Machaya (56) is sure, that it was a half-man, half-goat hybrid which was the result of bestiality:”A grown man was responsible for this.” Doctors, however say that it would be a biological impossibility.

No vet did not have a chance to investigate the mysterious creature, but based on photos he concluded the kid was suffering from hydrocephalus, also known as water on the brain. The condition would have accounted for the abnormally large skull and for the chin, nose, ears and other body parts having shifted during development.

Here is some terrific video of a bioluminescent deep-sea siphonophore – an eerily fantastic creature that appears to be a single, large organism, but which is actually a colony of numerous individual jellyfish-like animals that behave and function together as a single entity. The individual units, called zooids, all share the same genetic material and each perform a specialized role within the colony. The best-known siphonophore is the poisonous Portuguese Man o’ War (Physalia physalis), which lives at the surface of the ocean, unlike the one shown in this video (filmed at a depth of 770 meters). Some siphonophore species can grow up to 40 meters (130 ft) in length.

Doctors in China are trying to treat a four-year-old boy whose heart is growing on the outside of his stomach.

Zhang Weiyuan’s heart is covered in only a layer of skin under which it can easily be seen beating, reports the Northeastern News Network.

Zhang, of Hetai village, Panjing, has been taken to Shengjing Hospital, China Medical University, where doctors are weighing up their options.

“We are not sure if we can perform surgery to put his heart back, but we’ll try our best,” said a hospital spokesman.

His parents wrap him up in clothes with extra padding to protect his heart and stop him playing with other children in case of accidents.
