my Mixes

I’m 37 years old and I had quit from mixing DJing since 1997. Anyway I was never a pro DJ. My job is a systems analyst and I used to perform on weekends on some clubs/bars especially the summer season.

After my move on Crete I had much more free time and I’ve started to perform again for my fun, mainly replacing house djs at the day offs, at Crete and Athens.

My loved genres are Melodic Trance, GOA (ok… I know… these are the edges!!) and House.

My all time classic: Insomnia
My runner ups: Traffic, For an Angel, Naked and Age of Love
My best record: Land of Promise by Chakra & Edi Mis
Don’t forget… I’m and “old wolf”… :-)

The main problem of today’s clubs in Greece is that they don’t have a “music style”, according my memories! A decade before, there was clubs for every taste, dedicated to a specific genres (who can forget Battery?). Right now, the majority (not all) of the clubs are playing a mix of styles, including Hip-Hop, EuroDance, Pop, Rock, some Trance, House, a lot of “Greek beat”, some Arab and anything else you can imagine, mixed with no “thematic continuity”. And this is something I dislike as a cluber, but I respect as a DJ. The main rule for the creation of the playlist is the track’s broadcasting on TV/Radio!
This “style” is reflected on my mixes, but on a very low rate of “style mixing”. At least I perform for my fun and I don’t worry If I loose my job I’me trying to “keep the styles together”, trying to promote my beloved “easy listening” Trance styles.

    dj_enam, you’re absolutely right.
Unfortunately my latest sets, are more Greek beat oriented (or more east Mediterranean oriented) and I have to do a lot of copy-pasting and remixing in order to produce a clear set. I don’t believe, Greek beat is interesting the international listeners. If not, I’d like to see some comments and I’ll upload these sets asap.
