Weird Earth: The Pororoca Phenomenon

The Pororoca is a tidal bore up to 4 meters high that travels upstream the Amazon River. It’s name comes from the indigenous Tupi language, where it translates into “great destructive noise”. It occurs at the mouth of the river where river water meets the Atlantic Ocean. The phenomenon is best seen in February and March, where waves up to 4 meters rolling for up to 35 minutes have been observed.

Weid Animal Life Video: The “Yummy Mummy”

A BBC crew has filmed a worm-like amphibian, called a Caecilian, allowing her young to peel off her skin and eat it!
According Wikipedia, “…feeds its young by developing a special outer layer of skin, high in fat and other nutrients, which the young peel off with similar teeth thereby allowing them to grow by up to ten times their own weight in a week.”
