THE world will end for the human race on October 31, scientists reveal today.

But don’t choke on your cornflakes, folks, it won’t be until the year 2,252,006.

It means we have rather more than a fortnight or so to go. More like 21/4million years, actually.

The figures come from a team of geologists and paleontologists from across Europe, who studied an amazing 22million years-worth of fossils from central Spain.

The research confirmed suspicions that mammal species such as our Homo Sapiens have an average lifespan of 2.5million years.

Modern man has already been around for 250,000 years — leaving us a bit to go yet.
